Salmon & Seatrout Angling

 Salmon And Sea Trout

Because of our ideal location sitting on the Galway, Mayo border we are within a short distance of some of the best Salmon and Sea Trout fishing in Ireland. April, May sees the arrival of spring salmon runs throughout the west. Lough Inagh set in the beautiful landscape of Connemara, Lough Furnace outside Newport and Caramore lake in Banger Eris are all prolific spring salmon fisheries.
If it’s river fishing you desire look no further than the famous Galway weir which produces hundreds of early season salmon

Summer brings the big run of summer salmon averaging between 4lb and 6lb, there are many fisheries within close proximity which produce prolific runs. Delphi with its river and Loughs produces huge numbers of salmon each year. There are too many world class fisheries in our area to try to name them all but believe me the salmon angler will be spoiled for choice when staying at Corrib View lodge.

Sea Trout fishing has been badly effected with the introduction of commercial salmon farms in the eighty’s
But let that not deter you as many of the Loughs in Connemara and Mayo still provide some great sport.
Most fisheries are open on a catch and release basis and in July and August great sport can be had .
On Caramore lake you can keep your catch such are the numbers of sea trout still entering this system year on year. Pound for pound these little fish are unbelievable fighters and a day on the water in pursuit of these silver beauty’s is a real pleasure. Whatever time of season or or depending on you'r preference salmon or sea trout fishing, we will bring you to the Lough or river that is on form and will give you the angler the best sport.
